About
Hello, I'm Mrs Moss.
A qualified teacher who comes to your child, focuses on building real confidence, and is available all year round.
I'm a qualified and currently practising primary school teacher, teaching Class 2 (Years 2 to 4). I've spent more than fifteen years teaching in primary classrooms - and there's still nothing I love more than the moment a child's face lights up because something has finally clicked.
After years in the school system, I set up The Local Tutor so I could give children that same care in a quieter, gentler setting. Every child I work with is different, and every session is shaped around them: the topics they're tackling at school, the bits that feel wobbly, and the things that make them feel proud.
I'm deeply passionate about fostering a genuine love for learning in young minds - not just helping children pass tests, but helping them discover that learning can be exciting, rewarding and something to feel proud of.
I live and work in the local community, and I feel genuinely lucky to support the families around me. Whether your child needs a confidence boost, a hand with SATs, or simply someone in their corner each week, I'd love to help.
